Ice Cube Defends Himself From Accusation Of Robbing After Faizon Love Reveals He Got $2,500 For Friday Movie

Ice Cube, 52-year-old is defending himself over the production of the movie Friday, of 1995. The people on social media who reacted to Faizon Love from the film said that he took $2,500 as salary in the 1995 hit film Friday.

There were two sequels of the film later on as well that are Next Friday in 2000 and Friday After Next in 2002. On 22nd December, an interview was uploaded by the YouTube show, Comedy Hype. It was a six-minute-long video.

The video was of the interview with Faizon Love who was also in the film. He played the character of a big worm. During the video, Love disclosed the scale of pay he got from the film. Just after the video, the viewers accused Ice Cube of robbing his own people. To this, the comedy hype reacted that he did not rob anybody. Read more to know more!

Ice Cube Defends Himself From Accusation

Ice Cube, who co-wrote and appeared on the hit film, Friday in 1995 took to Twitter to defend himself. On Wednesday, he mentioned that film had a limited budget. It was also acknowledged by the performers and they were paid according to the number of days they worked.

He added that shooting the film in 20 days cost 2.3 million dollars. And Faizon worked for 1 or 2 days. All performers got the paid scale to do the film.

Ice said that they could have said a no but they did not, so do not blame me for that. The real name of the Ice Cube is O’Shea Jackson and he is multi-talented. Ice Cube is a rapper, producer, writer, and actor.

Faizon Love Say On This

Faizon Love, 53-year-old, in the interview released by Comedy Hype, said that he got double-scale to reprise the role of Big Worm. It was so that he can appear in the next sequel of the film-Next Friday in 2000. So he declined the offer as it was $5,000 and Love asked the Replacements for a $100,00 payday instead. Love said that the movie had a positive impact on his career and he was not bitter about the salary offer when asked did he felt the pay was justified? His character was an iconic one from the film. He also explained that nobody working on the film knew that it would get this hit.

Love Defends Ice Cube

On Wednesday, Faizon Love posted on Instagram to stop the backlash and put an end to the controversy. He said that he treats Ice Cube as his brother and Comrade and shared a selfie of the two. Love had no reluctance with the makers of Friday over his paycheque. 

Love said that what he got paid is a moot point and it was the price of admission to the game and he has zero regrets. He also thanked Ice Cube, Dj Pooh and Felix Gary Grey for letting him in as a part of such an iconic film.

During the interview, Love also revealed that Chris Tucker was paid $10,000 to appear as Craig’s weed-smoking bestie on Friday. But, Chris did not show up to be a part of the sequel. To this Ice Cube mentioned in his tweets that, Tucker left the film due to some religious concerns and not due to pay offer. Chris Tucker did not want to smoke weed on camera anymore, as Ice Cube explained.
