Who Was Olivia Kolek? Broken Mother Remembers Her Daughter Who Was Killed on the New Year’s Eve

A 14-year-old girl, whose name was Olivia Kolek, was reportedly hit by a drug driver. She lost her life on New Year’s Eve. The victim’s mother opened about her death to the media. She said ‘My life is broken forever.’
The incident took place near Rowley Regis railway station, Sandwell, in the West Midlands. Olivia Kolek was present at the crime spot at around 4:45 PM, on 31st December 2021. As per sources, she was going to New Year’s party and got hit by a grey Mercedes on her way.
After the incident happened, Paramedics attended the case for saving the girl but before 5:30 PM she lost her life.
Olivia Kolek’s Mother Talked About Her Daughter
The mother of Olivia Kolek, a 14-year-old girl, is a 41-year-old Post office assistant whose name is Izabela Maziakowska. She is feeling broken after the death of her daughter. She shared how Olivia Kolek wished her a Happy New Year by visiting her workplace on that day.
As per sources, the victim’s mother said, “she was my whole world. I cannot imagine life without her girl anymore. I don’t know how I am going to get up and get on with my life will stop it is broken forever.”
She continued by saying, “she came into the post office where I was working to wish me a happy new year, and I gave her some money and told her to enjoy herself and have fun. That was the last time I saw her. That was her last ever new Year.”
On Christmas, Olivia Kolek spent the festival along with her parents, Izabela Maziakowska and Lukasz Kolek, at their home. She also helped her parents to decorate the tree and bake cookies for the festival.
By remembering her daughter’s memory Izabela Maziakowska said, “I took a picture of her while she was baking them. I will treasure them now.”
Olivia’s mother also told that before crossing the road Olivia forgot that if she had pressed the light at the pedestrian crossing or not while she was on her way with her friends for attending a house party on the occasion of New Year.
She said, “I think she was talking on a phone to a friend because one of her friends later said they had heard a Big Bang and for someone to call an ambulance.”
What has Cops to Say About The Incident?
As per sources, A 39-year-old man was driving the grey Mercedes that stopped at the crime scene. He was suspected of causing the accident because he was under the influence of drugs. Currently, he is under police custody.
Julie Lyman, on behalf of West Midland’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit, said, “this is a truly awful way to start the new year and my heart goes out to the girl’s family and friends. We have started an investigation to understand what happened and the driver has been arrested as we believe he was driving while unfit through drugs.”
She added, “The investigation is clearly in the early stages and I would urge people not to speculate online about what happened. It is not helpful and can be very upsetting for the family.”
