Melanie Ham “Fought Like A Warrior Queen”
Youtuber Melanie Ham was battling cancer since May 2020. She was diagnosed with epithelioid angiomyolipoma, which happens to be a type of sarcoma. This happens to be a rare type of cancer that develops in bones and soft tissues. The Youtuber has been very open regarding her battle with cancer as well. She revealed that it was an extremely rare cancer and it behaves differently than other types of cancers. As a result, it is very unpredictable.
In October, Melanie Ham revealed that she had to undergo surgery in May in order to be free of tumors. The surgery was successful as she was in the hands of the best surgeons. However, within 5 weeks of the surgery, new symptoms began to appear. The tests and scans revealed that the cancer was spreading and had become aggressive once again.
Melanie Ham had to undergo further treatment and the next few weeks were pretty hard for her. Since cancer spread aggressively, she had to undergo a series of harsher chemo sessions. Although they were optimistic, the cancer was spreading. In late August, she would take chemotherapy drugs. This resulted in complications and she was hospitalized for the same. However, she was doing better at home, and hence, the doctors discharged her soon.
Melanie and her husband had been optimistic and hopeful throughout. They were rooting for the treatment to work. However, they knew that there is no well-defined way to win this battle. Even then, she didn’t give up. Her husband even said that she really did fight like a warrior queen.
Melanie’s Husband Shares The News With Fans
Melanie’s husband Robert took to her Instagram account to share the news of the celebrity’s death. He penned that his “sweet, amazing, beautiful wife” succumbed to cancer just nine days before their 16th anniversary. He revealed that although things got worse during the course of the treatment, they were glad that they could make it through the holidays. They tried to make every moment count. Despite the efforts of the doctors, nurses, their family, and Melanie herself, they were unable to save her. However, as aforementioned, he pointed out that Melania fought like a warrior queen.
Her husband further mentioned that he wants to “celebrate an amazing woman and a life well lived”. He revealed that Melanie “loved passionately, created beautifully, provided abundantly”. She was his best friend until the very end.
He told the fans that they can freely share photos and memories with her. The Youtuber had over 810,000 subscribers on her Youtube channel. The same existed since 2011. She posted tutorial videos of knitting, quilting, crochet, and lots more. She received more than 71 million views on her channel and her last post was uploaded in April 2021.
Fans flooded all the social media accounts to pay their condolences and support the family while they were grieving.
A celebration of Melanie Ham’s life will be held on January 29 in Valencia, California, at a community church. The same will live-streamed, as mentioned in her social media accounts.
