WWE fans are in shock as wrestling reporter, Sean Ross Sapp announced on Twitter that those he spoke to within WWE believe that Toni Storm asked for her release from the company. He added that he is trying to get in touch with those who are close to her to get her comment. Sean said in his tweet that the memo that went out did not list the budget cut as the reason as has been a tradition of late.
According to sources, it was Toni Storm who asked for her release and it was granted on Wednesday. After this news broke out, fans flood on Twitter and stated that she could lead an entire division. The WWE Smackdown Superstar has been released on 29 December by WWE. Let us know more about Toni!
Who Is Toni Storm?
Toni Storm, 26-year-old, whose real name is Toni Rossall, is a professional wrestler. The New Zealand-born wrestler got fans’ attention because of her performance in 2017 and 2018. Toni took the fight and won the Mae Young Classic Tournament. During her journey at WWE, she took the fight and won WWE Evolution pay-per-view. This was the first WWE’s all-women’s pay-per-view.
She first saw WWE on television when she was with her mother. Later, she developed an interest in wrestling. Toni Storm made her main roster debut performance in SmackDown in July. She performed really well and defeated Zelina Vega. Zelina is the current Queen Of The Ring.
Toni also performed on the NXT UK Brand and lasted the NXT UK Women’s Championship. On the eve of Christmas, Storm and Charlotte Flair had a fight for the SmackDown Women’s Title but she faced a defeat. In the Germany-based wXw- Westside Xtreme Wrestling, Storm lasted wXw twice. Storm also appeared on Japan-based World Wonder Ring Stardom. Here she was the very first UK wrestler to hold the title.
Why does Toni Storm Leave WWE?
It is not the first time, as many wrestling stars just like Toni Storm left WWE this year. This includes Nia Jax, Karrion Kross, and Keith Lee. As the news came out, it left everyone in shock including fans and the wrestling industry. There is no official comment by WWE regarding this yet. According to sources, Storm requested to release her from the WWE contract and it was granted immediately. The reason behind is still not available.
