Who is Tamara Durand? Dancing Grannies’ Member, Affected Victim of Waukesha Tragedy
2 min readRecently, the tragedy at the Christmas parade in Waukesha, Wisconsin shocked everyone. A maniac and suspect of the incident, Darrell Brooks Jr, drove his SUV on the crowd breaking police barricades. This injured many citizens and caused the death of five people at the Christmas parade on Sunday, 21 November. Tamara Durand is one of the five victims who passed away because of a tragic accident. People holds candles during the vigil to honor the victims on 22 November in Cutler Park, Waukesha.
Who is Tamara Durand?
The victims that died in the incident included four females and one male. One of them is Tamara Durand, a 52-year-old who did her debut performance with Dancing Grannies. Tamara was a hospice Chaplain at Aurora Zilber Hospice and a chaplain resident at Aspirus Wausau Hospital. According to her profile, she was a school teacher and worked in the town of Beaver Dam
According to the official website of Dancing Grannies’, in 2019, Tamara saved a homeless person from suffocating in water in Wisconsin. Each year, the group performs in the parade from Memorial Day to Christmas. They have performed in about 25 parades. The group was founded in 1984 and are known for their performances.
Her Husband Pays Tribute
Dave, the husband of Tamara Durand during a telephonic interview said that his wife was super energetic. He describes her being someone who danced her way through life. In her memories, he went on describing how her presence was. Dave added, that Tamara was the type of person if walks into the room, everybody in the world notices her smile. Tamara was the youngest one in the Dancing Grannies, he informed.
Dave stated that dancing was her passion and favorite thing to do. It was the first time that she appeared with the group for the performance but it went really tragic. Residents of Waukesha on Monday night did a candlelit vigil in order to pay tribute to the victims in the Christmas parade tragedy.
