Louis Vuitton’s designer Virgil Abloh passed away on 28 November. The 41-year-old was secretly battling cardiac angiosarcoma, a rare form of cancer.
After the announcement was made through Virgil’s official Instagram account, people are curious about the designer’s wife, Shannon Abloh.
Who is Shannon Abloh?
Shannon Abloh is a program supervisor and she is famous as the wife of Virgil Abloh. She is 40 years old and was born in the United States. She graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Marketing and Management from Edgewood College, Madison. While Shannon has a private Instagram account, we don’t know much about the designer’s wife.
Shannon Abloh and Virgil Abloh Relationship-
Shannon and Virgil Abloh were high school sweethearts. They studied and graduated from the same university. Even though the couple started as friends, they entered the relationship after a while.
The couple got married to each other in 2009, they reportedly dated for 10 years before saying their vows. While, they have a daughter, Lowe Abloh, and a son, Grey Abloh together.
The Designer Battled Cancer For Two Years-
According to his Instagram post, Virgil was battling cancer for the past two years. The caption read-“ For over two years, Virgil valiantly battled a rare, aggressive form of cancer, cardiac angiosarcoma. He chose to endure his battle privately since his diagnosis in 2019, undergoing numerous challenging treatments, all while helming several significant institutions that span fashion, art, and culture.”
The caption also stated, “ Virgil was driven by his dedication to his craft and to his mission to open doors for others and create pathways for greater equality in art and design. He often said, “Everything I do is for the 17-year-old version of myself,” believing deeply in the power of art to inspire future generations.”

Besides designing for Louis Vuitton, Virgil was also the CEO and founder of the famous brand, Off-White.
Virgil Abloh is a well-established name in the fashion industry. Through his brand Off-White, he fused runway fashion with street style.
Along with fans several celebrities publicly mourned the death of their beloved designer. He was close friends with Kendall Jenner as well as Gigi and Bella Hadid.
Kendall Jenner took to Instagram to express her grief and wrote- we have lost a dear friend. No words do my feelings justice at this very moment, but what I can say is that I am absolutely heartbroken, for his family, his kids, his wife, and anyone who cared for him deeply”.
