Adele Roberts, Radio 1 DJ Returns on BBC After Bowel Cancer Surgery

BBC Radio 1 Presenter Adele Roberts who recently underwent surgery for her Bowel cancer says she can’t wait to get back to work.
Adele, 42, who was diagnosed with bowel cancer in early October, appeared on the radio almost a month after her surgery, on the Wednesday Breakfast show on Saturday with the news that she is buzzing to be back and her tumour was diagnosed and removed successfully.
Who is Adele Roberts?
Adele Roberts first rose to fame after appearing on the third series of Channel 4’s Big Brother in 2002. After that, she joined the BBC in 2012 by joining the Radio 1Xtra team but eventually became the Radio 1 presenter in 2015. She has also been taking over the Breakfast program since earlier this year.
About Adele’s Bowel Cancer
Adele better known as the BBC Radio 1 presenter was diagnosed with Bowel cancer in early October after struggling with digestion for a while. On Saturday’s show, she also urged the listeners to not suffer in silence rather seek help if they have any kind of health concerns.
She has stated that her surgery had been successful and her body was mending. She also went on to thank NHS as it was a huge treatment to the skill and knowledge and she owes them her life.
After her surgery she decided to take a month off to recuperate, she also posted a snap on Instagram including a selfie of her stoma post-surgery, admitting the “rollercoaster” prognosis and subsequent treatment had been “overwhelming at times”.
Roberts went on to talk about her stoma nicknamed ‘Audrey’ saying “While my body heals from the surgery, I’ve got a new little friend,” She also explained “She’s kind of like a front bum; while my old bottom heals, I now go to the toilet on the front,”
