Who is Gaige Grosskreutz in Rittenhouse Case? His Arm Injury Explained
2 min readOn Friday afternoon, Kyle Rittenhouse pleaded not guilty for all the charges he had. The teen injured Gaige Grosskreutz’ arm severely in the Kenosha shooting incident in 2020. During protests against racial injustice, the conditions went fatal and riots increased. Kyle shot two men dead and injured Gaige who is the sole survivor of the incident.
What Happened To Gaige Grosskreutz’s Arm?
On November 8th, Monday, while giving his testimony about the incident explained details about his suffering. Videos and pictures presented for the shreds of evidence depicted Gaige holding the gun in one hand and his cell phone in the other hand. On this Gaige Grosskreutz explained that he did not intend to shoot with it immediately, but kept it for the sole purpose of self-defense. He drew the gun to be in a ready position whenever the need arose.
Gaige explained his part of the story and what he felt during the incident. He stated that, at that moment, he thought he should do something to protect himself from getting shot.
He mentioned that it was one of the most traumatic experiences of his life. Gaige stated that he was in the emergency ward at the hospital for a week and several months to heal the wounded arm by physical therapies. He also added that he is experiencing lasting weakness, muscle loss, and damages due to neurological breakdown.
How Gaige Grosskreutz Involved?
Gaige was present at the Kenosha protest because he wanted to provide medical services. For this, he provided his details in medical education and training. He also said that he has worked and holds experience as an EMT(Emergency Medical Technicians). The sole survivor said that he was working as a paramedic for a private ambulance organization in Milwaukee.
When Gaige heard the first gunshots that killed 18-year-old Joseph Rosenbaum, he was approximately only a block away from Kyle Rittenhouse. Rittenhouse was attacked by Anthony Huber when Gaige reached the scene. Kyle dead-shot Anthony just at that moment only. Kyle was just 17-year-old at that time when the incident happened and he was holding a semi-automatic rifle
After watching the gunshot, Gaige Grosskreutz prepared himself and pulled out a gun. The video shown for the evidence shows Gaige raising his hands while pointing his firearm upwards and stopping.
Kyle Rittenhouse Pleaded Not Guilty
Kyle had five charges that included intentional homicide, attempted intentional homicide, recklessly endangering safety, and illegal possession of a firearm. All of them were acquitted as, the jury declares, the verdict of Kyle not guilty.
