Who is David Hryck? Celebrity lawyer wins the prestigious Ellis Island Medal

The famous Ellis Island Medal was awarded to renowned attorney David Hryck.
We were told that it “celebrates the importance of immigration to the American economy and the contributions that immigrants and their descendants have made to our nation.”
The medal is given to “those who have exhibited an exemplary commitment to the service of our nation, whether professionally, culturally, or civically,” according to the current Ellis Island Honor Society.
Who is Celebrity lawyer David Hryck?
Hryck, an entertainment attorney who has represented a number of well-known figures, is an American native of Italian and Eastern European ancestry.
He has served on a number of philanthropic boards, including the Amy Winehouse Foundation, Petra Nmcová’s Happy Hearts Fund, the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award for Excellence Fund, Their Royal Highnesses Crown Prince Alexander and Crown Princess Katherine of Yugoslavia’s Lifeline Humanitarian Organization, Pencils of Promise and the Mariano Rivera Foundation, and Marc Anthony’s Maestro Cares.
Hryck is also a member of the Center for International Relations and Sustainable Development’s board of directors and co-chair of the Lang Lang International Music Foundation’s board of directors, which was created by world-renowned concert pianist Lang Lang.
Hryck was thrilled to receive the prize alongside Ruth Bader Ginsberg
Hryck told Page Six that receiving the medal on the same day as Ruth Bader Ginsberg, who was appointed a recipient before her death in 2020, was a special honour for him. COVID-19 forced the cancellation of the 2020 and 2021 awards presentations, therefore she was honoured this year.
The grandeur of the occasion on Ellis Island, he added, helped him realise how essential philanthropy is. Ellis Island is famed for being the site where millions of immigrants were processed upon arrival in the United States. “You can see how much value is placed on it,” he explained.
George W. Bush, Bill Clinton, Joe Biden, Joe DiMaggio, and Frank Sinatra are just a few of the noteworthy winners of the award.
