The meme is an image of Waititi and Blanchett on the set of the MCU movie Thor: Ragnarok. In the film, Waititi acts as Korg while Blanchett stars as Hela.

The photo further shows Blanchett in her full costume whereas Waititi is seen wearing casual clothes since he also directed the Marvel film.

The WIRED’s YouTube channel shared an 8-minute clip on 31st May of Taika Waititi answering the most searched questions on Google related to him.

He was initially clueless when he first peeled off the sticker from the board and was asked about the ‘Taika Waititi Cate Blanchett meme’. 

He said, ‘Taika Waititi Cate Blanchett meme, what the hell is this?’

Soon he came to realize that it was a funny meme that he unintentionally featured.

The New Zealand native went on to say, ‘Oh, when I’m showing her something on an iPad and people are like “when your wife gets home” and you are like “look what my score was on Wordle”.’

He further joked about the viral meme saying, ‘Okay, yeah. I have seen it. It was actually, it was exactly like that on set.’

Waititi also recalled the origin of the meme. He said, ‘I was like “This is how it’s gonna be and I want you to do this and that’s gonna look really cool. Cause you’re gonna have a giant wolf and a zombie army.” She (Blanchett) is like “I could’ve taken last year off”.’
