Speculations of K-pop band BTS collaborating with American singer Charlie Puth have been flooding the internet.

The superstar group has already managed to successfully collaborate with A-list celebrities including Lizzo, Halsey, and Simon Pegg.

Most recently, Charlie Puth has been dropping hints about a possible collaboration with BTS.

Charlie Puth to collaborate with BTS?

Charlie Puth has been recently sharing quite a many pictures of BTS on his Instagram account.

On 31st May the singer reposted the snippet of the group’s visit to the White House. All the seven members of the group met with President Joe Biden to talk about anti-Asian hate crimes. They also celebrated AANHPI Heritage month and addressed the issue of Asian inclusion.

Shortly after posting the video, Puth went on to like an Instagram post shared by group member Jungkook. The Korean idol recently resumed posting content on the platform after being MIA for quite a while.

Furthermore, fans noticed that the songwriter follows Jungkook on Instagram.

These bits of indirect interaction between the two mega-pop artists led fans to believe that a possible collaboration might be in talks.

Charlie Puth drops more hints

Both Charlie Puth and Jungkook have recently shared a black and white Instagram story of a bustling street with taxis driving around the city. 

This led the fans to believe that a secret collaboration between Charlie Puth and Jungkook might be in the making.

Furthermore, before he visited the White House, Jungkook made a brief stop in New York City which is where Puth is reported to reside. 

Users accuse Charlie Puth of using BTS to chase clout

Fans of BTS were not certainly impressed by Charlie Puth’s repeated references to the Korean band.

They pointed out that Puth ‘used BTS for clout’.

ARMY’s flooded Puth’s TikTok account and claimed him for using BTS’s clout for himself.

After being spammed, the singer took to his Twitter account to end this toxicity.

In one of his tweets he wrote, ‘I don’t usually pay any mind to things like this, but something has to be said. This dangerous, toxic, internet screaming match between ‘fandoms’ has to stop. I’m 28 years old, so it doesn’t really mean anything to me when some person I don’t know writes a nasty message to me.’

He continued, ‘…saying things like “I used BTS for clout”. I don’t know what that means- I love those guys and they are super talented.’
