Vatican Girl will explore theories surrounding the disappearance of Emanuela Orlandi
Netflix is gearing up for its new series, Vatican Girl. It is a four-part series directed by Don’t F*** With Cats director Mark Lewis.
According to reports, the new series will explore the various theories and rumors surrounding the disappearance of 15-year-old Emanuela Orlandi.
Moreover, the series will include interviews with Orlandi’s mother Maria, other family members, and a couple of her childhood friends.
It is important to note that the case is still not proven.
What Happened to Emanuela Orlandi?
Emanuela Orlandi left her home in Vatican City, Italy, to go to a flute lesson that was taking place at her high school in Rome.
However, it is supposed that she disappeared on her way home from the lesson. Furthermore, she reportedly went missing near Piazza Navonaon in the city.
Additionally, Orlandi was supposed to meet her sister and friends after her flute lesson but unfortunately, she never showed up.
The Vatican’s allegedly involved in Emanuela Orlandi’s disappearance
Netflix documentary Vatican Girl is investigating new conspiracies in depth relating to the disappearance of Emanuela Orlandi.
Subsequently, Orlandi’s brother, Pietro Orlandi claimed that the elite group of the Vatican knew the truth about the disappearance of her younger sister and what happened to her.
In addition, Father Gabriele Amorth, Vatican’s 85-year-old priest and Chief Exorcist mentioned a new theory while talking with The Huffington Post in May 2011.
He stated that Orlandi was kidnapped to be used as a sex slave at parties by a member of the Vatican police.
Moreover, he said that she was eventually killed and reported that several authorities from a foreign embassy were also involved in Orlandi’s disappearance.
Meanwhile, Orlandi’s childhood friend who refused to reveal her identity revealed that ‘someone close to the pope’ allegedly molested Orlandi a few weeks before she vanished.
Few claim that she was used as a bargaining chip to release Mehmet Ali Agca.
Additionally, investigators believed that Orlandi might have been taken by the members of Banda della Magliana i.e. Magliana Band. They allegedly traded her to recover money that multiple crime groups lost when the Banco Ambrosiano, a Vatican-linked bank, collapsed.
