Dannii Minogue, recently out as queer, expresses openness to hosting a dating show inclusive of trans and non-binary individuals.

Dannii Minogue, host of the upcoming lesbian dating show “I Kissed A Girl,” has expressed openness to the idea of hosting a similar dating show tailored for trans and non-binary individuals. This statement comes in the wake of Minogue’s recent revelation of her own queerness just before the launch of “I Kissed A Girl.”

Scheduled to premiere on May 5, “I Kissed A Girl” is the UK’s first lesbian dating show, following a format similar to the previous hit series “I Kissed A Boy.” The show features ten single women who travel to an Italian Masseria and are paired up, with the twist of having to kiss their partner without speaking during their first meeting. As the series progresses, new contestants are introduced, and existing couples must decide whether to continue with their current partner or explore other connections.

During a screening event for “I Kissed A Girl,” Dannii Minogue emphasized the show’s focus on its debut season but expressed openness to exploring future iterations. She acknowledged the importance of the show in paving the way for other LGBTQ+ dating shows and indicated a willingness to be part of a trans and non-binary version in the future. While acknowledging the need for progress to be made step by step, Minogue emphasized the potential for growth and expansion in the LGBTQ+ dating show landscape.

The format of “I Kissed A Girl” includes frequent ‘Kiss-Offs,’ where pairs decide whether to remain with their assigned partner or explore other connections. Participants who remain unkissed ultimately leave the show. Dannii Minogue emphasized the importance of celebrating the cast of “I Kissed A Girl” and ensuring their well-being before considering other versions of the show.

As the first two episodes of “I Kissed A Girl” premiere on BBC iPlayer on May 5, Dannii Minogue looks forward to the show’s success and the potential for future conversations about expanding the dating show format to include trans and non-binary individuals. The show airs on BBC Three on Sundays and Mondays at 9 pm following its initial streaming release.
