Aidan Kaminska of Long Island, a talented lacrosse player at the University of Massachusetts Amherst, died on Monday, May 30. The 19-year-old, who was rare in Port Jefferson, died “unexpectedly,” according to an obituary notice and the university. As a redshirted freshman at UMass in 2022, Kaminska was chosen to the CAA All-Rookie Team. Why is there no mention of Aidan Kaminska’s cause of death?
Neither the obituary nor the university release mentions the student’s cause of death. Kaminska was a member of the Minutemen lacrosse team at UMass Amherst and a sophomore communications major. Kaminska first became interested in sports as a kid in his Long Island neighbourhood, where he began playing lacrosse. He was a captain of the team in both lacrosse and football for the Port Jefferson School District while he was in junior high. In lacrosse, he was selected All-County Midfielder, while in football, he was named All-County and All-State.

He was name to the CAA Commissioner’s Academic Honor Roll. For the fall semester of year 2020. Aidan’s obituary also stated that “I enjoyed being crazy and making others laugh. As he was a sucker for baby animals, particularly ducklings and rabbits. He loved going for long walks in the woods and he worked out hard. He also liked to cook, frequently sautéing fresh spinach and experimenting with new dishes.”
