Patti LaBelle was rushed off the stage at Milwaukee’s Riverside Theater on Saturday while performing. Milwaukee Police Department and the Riverside Theater reported a bomb threat that caused the theatre to be evacuated. Following a bomb threat investigated by the Milwaukee Police Department, tonight’s @MsPattiPattishow at the Riverside Theater has been postponed. It is with great appreciation that we thank the Milwaukee Police Department, our customers, and our staff for a safe and orderly exit from our facility. In a statement to the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, Milwaukee Police Capt. Warren E. Allen Jr. said all patrons have been evacuated from the 100 block of W. Wisconsin following the bomb threat.

At the moment, police are clearing the area. Investigations are ongoing and fluid. A K9 unit searched the building, but no explosive devices were found. The public is safe at this time, according to the Milwaukee Police Department. Just before the microphone was taken from her hand, LaBelle exclaimed, “Wait!” as she was ushered off the stage by security. One user wrote: apparently someone had to ruin this once loving and joyful holiday for Patti Labelle. The Riverside Theater says it is working with LaBelle regarding rescheduling.

A bomb scare forced Patti LaBelle off stage at her Milwaukee concert Saturday night. As LaBelle was talking to the crowd at the Riverside Theater, audience members took social media videos showing her crying as three men kicked away her mic stand and exited the stage. Her bouquet of flowers was forced to be dropped by one of the staff members who grabbed her by the arm and escorted her away without explanation. In the background, the singer’s band members followed behind, while puzzled concertgoers asked, “What happened? A major security threat caused the show to be halted and ultimately postponed. The Milwaukee Police Department investigated a bomb threat in connection with tonight’s Patti LaBelle concert at the Riverside Theater, according to Pabst Theater Group.

Everyone else in the theatre was evacuated after Patti LaBelle, 78, was removed from the stage. According to a Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reporter, police are still investigating the incident. The statement noted that all patrons had been evacuated safely. At this time, the facility is being cleared by the police. Investigations are fluid and ongoing. One fan shared video footage taken outside the theatre as patrons spilled onto the street. Fans were quick to flood social media with pictures and videos. The woman filming the video said she didn’t know if she could go back inside the venue. Whether we can return inside the Riverside Theater is up to them, but right now everything is halted. As part of her upcoming tour, LaBelle will be on the road until March of next year. In addition, she will guest star in two episodes of ABC’s “The Wonder Years.” The new episodes are scheduled to debut in midseason.
