Amber Heard is removed from the United Nations Human Rights Commission. This comes after she suffered defeat in the sensationalized defamation case with her former husband Johnny Depp.

The actress’s name being axed from the United Nations page comes after internet users slammed the ACLU for maintaining Heard’s ambassadorship.

Amber Heard removed from the United Nations Human Rights Commission

On 24th June, a Reddit user called u/ReviewEquivalent1266 revealed that the United Nations Human Rights Commission had ‘finally removed’ Amber Heard’s page from their website.

The post further added that the organization might have decided that the 36-year-old star was ‘no longer fit to be a champion for domestic abuse victims.’

The Reddit post came alongside supposedly an official notice by the High Commissioner of the UN Human Rights Office.

It said, ‘Shortly after the United Nations Human Rights High Commissioner parted ways with Amber Heard the UN made it clear they stood with victims of domestic violence regardless of the victim’s gender identity.’

Regardless, further into the post, the user explained that it was a meme.

UN is yet to release a statement about whether they will remove the Aquaman actress from her ambassadorship.

Moreover, Heard’s UN page remains unseen for now however the organization continues to follow the actress on Instagram.

Netizens slam ACLU for supporting Amber Heard and demand to remove her from ambassadorship

After the Reddit post was all over the internet, multiple netizens rallied against the ACLU to remove Amber Heard as their ambassador.

Heard is ACLU’s Ambassador of Women’s Rights especially to gender-based violence.

Several users took to social media sites to rally against the actress. However, several users celebrated the UN terminating their relationship with Heard.

One user shared, ‘ACLU likes to get their money. Anyone can be a champion for them Even Abusers’.

Another mentioned, ‘YOUR TURN ACLU. I’ve already lost respect for them but if they want any hope of staying reputable they need to remove her.’

A Twitter user said, ‘United Nations High Commissioner has parted ways with Amber Heard says she is unfit. They will still represent genuine victims. ACLU it’s time you stopped paying an abuser 33,000$$$$ per talk. Dirty filthy hypocrites.’

During the six-week trial, Heard confessed that she is yet to donate her divorce settlement amount to the ACLU as she has promised in her past interview.
