Ulta Beauty is facing calls for a boycott after they invited controversial transgender TikTok star, Dylan Mulvaney, to their podcast about ‘girlhood.’

Why is Ulta Beauty being slammed on social media?
Ulta Beauty invited Dylan Mulvaney for a recent episode of their podcast series The Joy Of Girlhood where she opened up about her transition with host and celebrity hairstylist David Lopez.
Moreover, the two discussed a variety of subjects including their respective journey in the LGBTQ community. However, during the interview, Mulvaney detailed a few things that triggered an avalanche of transphobic vitriol on the internet.
She said, ‘Now I know I can find love, I know I can still be a performer, I know that I can have a family. I want to be a mom one day—and I absolutely can.’

Furthermore, the actress claimed, ‘And that’s why the narrative still has a long way to go because when I was grieving Boy Dylan, I didn’t know those things were even accessible to me.’
She then went on to add, ‘There is much shame, so much stigma. I had this idea of trans-people and it was weird because I knew I was trans. Yet had transphobia of myself.’
Mulvaney’s comments were considered misogynist and misgendered online as the users called for a boycott of the beauty giant.

Several customers of Ulta Beauty took to social media to diss the company for featuring Dylan Mulvaney in their episode.
They claimed that the 25-year-old influencer was appropriating womanhood and wearing it as a costume.
