Tyrese Gibson Arrested Over Unpaid Child Support, Claims Conspiracy; Fans Express Outrage Online.

Actor and singer Tyrese Gibson was arrested in court on Monday after failing to pay $10,000 per month in child support to his ex-wife, Samantha Lee. The ongoing legal battle centers around their 5-year-old daughter, Soraya. Gibson was found in contempt of court during a hearing in Fulton County, Georgia, presided over by Judge Kevin Farmer.

The “Fast and Furious” star has been embroiled in a dispute over child support payments since April 2023 when he was ordered to begin paying $10,000 monthly. Despite repeated warnings, Gibson had refused to comply with the court’s orders, which ultimately led to his arrest. Judge Farmer reportedly grew frustrated with Gibson’s refusal to meet his obligations, leading to the contempt charge.

In court, Gibson was handcuffed and escorted out after his failure to make the required payments. Judge Farmer gave him a way to avoid jail time by paying his ex-wife $73,000, which includes $7,500 in attorney fees. The actor-singer is currently exploring ways to settle this amount, according to reports from TMZ.

Gibson’s Allegations of Conspiracy

Prior to the hearing, Gibson had already voiced his frustrations about the case. Over the weekend, he warned his fans about his potential arrest and accused both Judge Farmer and Samantha Lee’s legal team of conspiring against him. In a now-deleted Instagram post, Gibson specifically mentioned Lee’s lawyer, Adam Gleklen, and William Alexander, claiming they had close ties with the judge.

He stated, “Samantha’s lawyer Adam Gleklen and William Alexander who are besties with the judge Kevin M. Farmer [collusion].” Gibson also mentioned that his legal team had attempted twice to have Judge Farmer removed from the case, but both motions were denied. He added, “We are APPEALLING ALL OF HIS RULINGS AND ALREADY HAVE TRIED TO GET THIS JUDGE THROWN OFF THE BENCH TWICE…imagine that???”

Gibson has made multiple public pleas for transparency in his legal proceedings, reaching out to media outlets, including The Post, to seek coverage of his case. He encouraged journalists to file requests for media access, saying, “It’s pretty clear that they hate my guts… I’ve worked my ass off since I was 14 years old to get here.”

Background on Gibson’s Family Life

Tyrese Gibson and Samantha Lee married in 2017, and their daughter, Soraya, was born the following year. The couple separated and filed for divorce just two years later. This is not the first time Gibson has dealt with family-related legal issues. He also has a 17-year-old daughter, Shayla, with his first wife, Norma Mitchell, whom he was married to from 2007 to 2009. Mitchell has filed a lawsuit against Gibson for defamation, accusing him of disclosing private details about their daughter on social media.

Fans React to the Arrest

News of Tyrese Gibson’s arrest sparked significant debate on social media, with fans voicing both criticism and support. Some expressed disbelief over the high amount of child support he was ordered to pay.

One fan wrote, “What kid needs $73k? This system is broken.” Another echoed similar sentiments: “$73K in 48 hours is crazy,” while some speculated that the money would be used for purposes other than child support, with one person commenting, “73K USD for one child? Or for the ex so she can spend on wigs, purses, and nights out with her friends.”

Others questioned Gibson’s decision to marry in the first place, with one fan saying, “Bro married the worst woman ever. Still don’t understand why rich men get married in 2024 with everything going on.”

Tyrese Gibson’s legal and financial troubles have become a public spectacle, with many eagerly awaiting how the actor-singer will handle the mounting challenges. For now, the star faces the difficult task of resolving the child support dispute while maintaining his claims of being unfairly targeted by the legal system.
