Peter Moore, a true legend in the sneaker industry,  passed away on Friday, April 30, 2022. He was responsible for revamping the designs of both Nike as well as Adidas. He had impacted the world with his highly-coveted sneakers, Air Jordan 1 along with the iconic Jumpman and Mountain Stripes logo.

Details on Peter’s memorial have not been revealed yet.

The designer’s family requested privacy to process through a difficult time, recounted a spokesperson on behalf of the family on Saturday.

Who was Peter Moore?

Peter Moore, a brand marketer, completed his college graduation from the Chouinard Art Institute.

Peter was mainly recognized for his work on Air Jordan 1. The sneakers made their debut in 1985 through Michael Jordan. They remain to be among the most sought-after silhouettes in the sneaker nation.

He is consistently credited for his role in signing the gold standard endorsement deal with athlete Michael Jordan.h

The sneaker architect further concreted his name in the sneaker industry by designing the iconic Jumpman logo as well as the original Wings logo.

Peter worked in his design studio till 1970. He started working with Nike in the year 1977 and years later became the label’s first creative director.

Peter Moore’s history with Adidas

The legendary sneaker designer was also known for his work as a creative director at Adidas Americas.

Moreover, he succeeded Rob Strasser at Adidas Americas. After the unexpected demise of Strasser in 1993, Peter became the head of the brand’s North American operations.

Peter remains to be credited for reviving Adidas. He redesigned the iconic Adidas Mountain logo as well as founded the Adidas Equipment line. The EQT line of Adidas remains to be among the most significant campaigns in the label’s history.
