Travis Scott’s much-anticipated “Circus Maximus” tour stop in Melbourne took a chaotic turn on Tuesday night, as fans caused a scene outside Marvel Stadium while waiting for the show to begin. Tensions ran high as restless concertgoers resorted to breaking barricades and hurling objects into the air, creating a disorderly atmosphere before the doors even opened.
In scenes that were unsettlingly reminiscent of the 2021 Astroworld tragedy, which led to the deaths of 10 people, swarms of rowdy fans began to overwhelm security outside the venue. As the crowd grew more impatient, some attendees took matters into their own hands by lifting fences off the ground and charging through the barricades in the general admission area.

The Australian police, mounted on horseback, were quick to respond and did their best to restore order. Despite the commotion, the situation was eventually brought under control, allowing the show to go on as scheduled. However, inside the stadium on Wednesday, more instances of fan misconduct occurred, with security having to intervene and take immediate action to manage the crowd.
Travis Scott concerts are known for their high-energy atmosphere, often pushing the limits of crowd behavior, but the incidents in Melbourne have raised concerns once again. The chaos at the “Circus Maximus” tour comes at a time when the rapper has just put the legal repercussions of the Astroworld disaster behind him. Just a day before the Melbourne show, it was reported that over 300 people, who had filed lawsuits following the Astroworld tragedy, reached a settlement with Travis Scott and Live Nation.

Despite the disruptions, the “Circus Maximus” tour remains one of the most sought-after events, with Travis Scott recently breaking Drake’s record for the highest-grossing rap tour.
Fans and social media users were quick to react to the unruly behavior in Melbourne.
