The character Nightshade is actually an alien robot identifying itself as non-binary in the series. However, months after it came on Paramount+, one of the clips of Nightshade has been grabbing the attention of all and it’s all creating a lot of buzz on social media.

Right-wing Twitter account shares clip of Nightshade from Transformers: Earthspark

It was on 11th May 2023 that a right-wing Twitter account Libs of TikTok shared a clip of Nightshade from Transformers: Earthspark. The clip shared that’s now going viral shows the character Nightshade talking to Sam about their pronouns in it.

In the Transformers show, the robots are trying to protect the Earth from bad robots who want to hurt people. The good robots are trying to stop the bad robots and keep everyone safe.

The caption of the clip read “They’re after your kids”. The anti-LGBTQ+ rhetoric has since gone viral by the Twitter user. Even sparking backslash on the same. Not to miss, the account already has an anti-LGBTQ+ following. As they have been criticizing the series and its writers.

Netizens react to Nightshade clip from Transformers: Earthspark

Ever since the video of Nightshade went viral on the internet. Users have been reacting on the same as one user Markus Andrew wrote that the inclusion of the pronoun in the show felt unnecessary and uncomfortable to him. As he felt giving the spotlight to the pronouns was something he didn’t like. There have been several such reactions on the same.

Some even went on to slam the inclusion of different gender identities into shows that are watched by children. Many though called it scary and disturbing as well. Meanwhile, the right-wing conservatives have been reacting on the same, and social media is abuzz with it.

This felt uncomfortable and very unnecessary tbh, I have no issues with pronouns or anything but to have such a spotlight on it feels disjointed and weird

Transformers have always never had genders at all because they are robots, no reproduction. All transformers are then nonbinary because they are genderless robots.

The most disturbing thing about this clip isn’t the insane part about pronouns.
The worst part is they imply that the world is evil and you can only trust non-binary people. This is the most sinister message you can send to a child. Absolutely revolting.
