On TikTok, a platform where a new trend appears and spreads every day, the Gentle Minions trend is currently popular. Teenagers dressed to the nines visit their local movie theatre in a number of shared videos on the platform.

Attending the screenings of the brand-new animated picture, Minions: The Rise of Gru, are large groups of young men dressed in a black suit, a formal shirt, pleated slacks, and a tie. These teenagers are dressed to partake in the Gentle Minions craze, from entering malls to riding the escalator.

Additionally, as soon as they enter the theatre, they sit in a row, occasionally throwing Minion symbols, and clapping to show their appreciation for the movie.

Due to the Gentle Minions fad, teenagers in suits are forbidden in movie theatres

Even though the Minions movie franchise has been hugely famous for a while, its most recent installment, The Rise of Gru, has experienced tremendous growth as a result of the Gentle Minions TikTok fad. Theaters are increasingly forbidding entry to teenagers who are dressed formally. This is a result of the mayhem they’re causing in the theatres by interjecting claps and making minion gestures.

The practice is becoming more and more common, particularly in the UK, and can range from handing out bananas inside to hurling popcorn here and there.

TikTok Videos of the Gentle Minions are receiving lots of likes

However, movie theatres have now banned teenagers from wearing formal attire on their premises due to the commotion and growth of the fad. A sheet of paper announcing the ban is being posted in theatres. The message states,

“Due to recent disturbances following the Gentle Minions Trend, any group of guests in formal attire will be refused entry for showings of Minions: The Rise of Gru.”

But it appears that teens are still following the pattern despite this notice. Teenagers are turning up with accessories and clothing that resemble what the Minions wear in the movies now that formal attire is prohibited in theatres.

The remainder of the crowd in the cinema theatre is having a bad time due to huge groups of boys attending the screenings in formal clothing and shouting all at once. Users assert that the movie’s ticket sales have increased as a result of the trend because more and more teenagers are seeing the film to follow along.

Now, Gen Z is contributing to the success of “Minions,”, especially over the long weekend. Since its July 1 release, the film has sold over $218 million worth of tickets globally.
