‘This Is the End for Me’: Terrence Howard confirmed He’s Retiring

According to Terrence Howard, he’s ready to hang up his hat once and for all. During a red carpet event for The Best Man: The Final Chapters, a Hulu series in which he reprises his role as Quentin Spivey, the Oscar-nominated actor announced his decision. The show will serve as Howard’s swan song before he retires, he told Entertainment Tonight. For me, this is the end. As for the rest of them, I’m not sure if it’s the end, he said. For the most part, I retired two years ago. That was it for me. A decade ago, I asked Sidney Poitier if he wanted to do any more work, and he replied, ‘Why would I spend my last 10 years impersonating myself? ’ That’s where I’ve gotten.

After the conclusion of Fox’s hit series Empire, Terrence Howard made similar remarks in 2019. Although the 53-year-old actor has appeared in several projects, including 2021’s Triumph, 2022’s The Walk, and the upcoming Peacock series The Best Man, which premieres on 22nd December. Early in his acting career, Howard appeared in the miniseries All My Children and The Jacksons: An American Dream. His films include Dead Presidents, Crash, Iron Man, and Hustle & Flow, all of which received critical acclaim. At the 78th Academy Awards, he was nominated for Best Actor for the latter role.

Actor Terrence Howard Announces He’s Retiring And Explains His Reasons For Why He’s Ready To End His Career

There is a possibility that Terrence Howard will end his acting career soon. While promoting his new movie The Best Man: The Final Chapters, the 53-year-old Empire star hinted at retirement. As well as hinting at his impending retirement, he also explained why he might be ready to move on. ET gets the scoop from Terrence. It’s the end for me. For me, this is the end. For the rest, I’m not sure if it’s the end. In addition, he explained that he has largely given up taking on new projects. Most of my work was done two years ago when I retired. He said I was done. Ten years ago, I asked Sidney Poitier if he wanted to do any more work, and he replied, Why would I impersonate myself for my last 10 years? That’s where I’ve got to. Continuing, the 53-year-old actor reveals he has given his very best as an actor and that he appreciates new actors. In the meantime, I’m enjoying watching other new talents emerge, and I don’t want to imitate myself.

Since he began his career in the early 1990s, the Chicago native has enjoyed a successful career. He starred in Ray, Crash, and Four Brothers after making guest appearances in various sitcoms. For his role in Hustle & Flow, Howard was nominated for an Academy Award in 2006. According to Complex, the actor previously stated that he would retire from Empire after it ended. Howard continued to act in films after the Fox show ended in 2020 after six seasons. He appears to be ready to retire now, though. The actor also expressed his hope that his fellow entertainers would find success, sharing with Entertainment Tonight, Yes, there are some better actors out there who can do things that I was never able to do. I would like to applaud them and be excited about their work.
