Taliban won’t allow Afghans to go to Kabul airport for evacuation, spokesman says

Taliban told everyone on Tuesday, that it will not allow Afghani nationals to leave Afghanistan. The group is in opposition to any evacuation or extension flights. This declaration arrived just one week before the evacuation of the nationals by the U.S.A and other nations. In a news conference, Zabihullah Mujahid, the Taliban spokesman said that the Taliban are not in favor of the nationals leaving.

“They [the Americans] have the opportunity, they have all the resources, they can take all the people that belong to them but we are not going to allow Afghans to leave and we will not extend the deadline,” The Spokesman said. Taliban is also saying that the evacuation of the Afghanis by other countries will be a violation of the rules. After the 31st of August, any evacuation will be against the administration promise of Biden. The promise was to end the U.S military’s mission in Afghanistan.

Taliban has closed all the airports and international exits. According to the Taliban, Afghanistan locals will only make the Airports more crowded. The airport is a prohibited zone for locals. Foreign people can use the airport and leave the country as soon as possible. The President of The U.S.A, said earlier, that he will extend the departure date past the 31st of August. Joe Biden, the President will address the nation and the evacuation team on Tuesday. Tuesday he will be attending an emergency G-7 meeting.

John Kirby, the Pentagon spokesman has told the reporters on Tuesday that no change in the evacuation timeline is provided. Kirby told the press “We remain committed to getting any and all Americans that want to leave out and we still believe certainly now that we have been able to increase the capacity and the flow, we believe that we have the capability, the ability to get that done by the end of the month”.

The White House national security’s advisor Jake Sullivan has said in a press conference that the evacuation activities were supposed to end by the 31st of August. The Military has evacuated 58,700 Americans till now. According to the reports, still, thousands of Americans are remaining in hopes of getting evacuated from Afghanistan. 50,000 U.S Troops are on the ground assisting the foreign people in Kabul. The Afghans relocating to The U.S.A will be living in Fort McCoy in Wisconsin, Fort Bliss in Texas, or Fort Lee in Virginia. 200 aircraft are currently in Kabul, evacuating.
