Extensive search operation was conducted
A massive search operation was conducted using rescue boats, jet skis to find both the victim and the predator. Around 6:00 pm on the same day, human remains were found in the water. Also captured on video, the gruesome moment was widely shared on social media.
During a boating trip in Middle Harbour’s Sugarloaf Bay in 1963, TV actress Marcia Hathaway was struck by a shark in a similar fashion and killed. This was Sydney’s first shark attack in 60 years.
This video shows the aftermath of the Sydney shark attack
There has been a rampant online spread of video footage documenting a fatal shark attack at Little Bay beach in Sydney. A swimmer was consumed alive on Wednesday by a nearly four-and-a-half meter long great white predator who happened to be swimming in the area.
It was captured on video at the exact moment the animal attacked the swimmer. Thrashing him around the ocean before sucking him underwater. There were large splashes in the sea that turned red before the area started to be circled by birds.
One of the men witnessing the brutal tragedy in person can be heard screaming in the video while witnessing half a (human) body being taken by a shark. A police officer later confirmed that the video clearly showed half a [human] body being eaten by a shark.
The video also shows several onlookers screaming and crying in horror in the background. Witnesses were interviewed for several hours by the police.
According to Kris Linto, a shark attacked a man while he was swimming vertically. When they turned around, they saw something that looked like a car had landed in the water. There was a big splash and then an animal was chomping on the body, and there was blood everywhere. “It was really bad.”

Local residents at Randwick Council were shocked by the incident
Even if paramedics had arrived sooner, nothing could have been done to save the swimmer because his injuries were so severe. As the desperate hunt for the predator continued, dozens of fishermen and beachgoers were reeling in shock.
Many locals avoided using the water as a precaution following the incident. In light of the tragedy, Randwick council closed all beaches for 24 hours, including Little Bay and Maroubra Beach nearby.
