Krista Vernoff, the executive producer of Station 19 and Grey’s Anatomy said, “I am a better artist and human for having had the opportunity to work with Okieriete Onaodowan. I am heartbroken by the loss of Dean Miller and that I no longer get to write for Oak. Oak has an expansive spirit and was ready for and craving new artistic horizons.” “I truly can’t wait to see what he does next. It will be powerful, it will be deep, and it will be courageous because Oak is all of those things,” the showrunner added.

It was predicted that someone might die after ABC released a promo for the night’s episode. They showed glimpses of a massive explosion and said-“Not Everyone Will Survive.” It was after the episode was telecasted that fans were left heartbroken after Dean’s death.

What Happened In The Episode-

Dean’s journey as a character has been worth watching. From being a bachelor to being a dad, the viewers have witnessed him grow for good. He names his daughter Pruitt Arike Miller after Captain Pruitt Herrera. As a black man Dean’s suffers emotionally after the George Floyd incident. Subsequently, we see him fighting for his community against the system he himself is a part of.

In this season, we see Dean falling for Victoria Hughes. But, before he makes a move and tells her, Theo Ruiz expresses his feelings to her and they both start dating. While in the latest episode, both Victoria and Dean go to save the victims of the blast. Then a second explosion takes place. This leaves both Dean and Victoria injured and both are taken to Grey Sloan Memorial in different ambulances. Ben and Dean have an emotional moment before Dean dies. Ben, who was a good friend of Dean recalls that he made a promise to him that he will take care of Pruitt if anything happens to him. Bailey then welcomes Dean’s daughter into their family after some hesitation.
