Sneako Permanently Banned from Twitch for Extreme Hateful Conduct
3 min readNicolas “Nico,” widely known as “Sneako,” has been permanently banned from Twitch, marking another chapter in the controversial internet personality’s tumultuous streaming career. Despite being reinstated on Twitch as recently as June 11, 2024, Sneako’s return was short-lived, as the platform has now permanently suspended his channel. The ban comes amid rising tensions and discussions around moderation on Twitch, leaving many netizens stunned by the sudden action.
On October 22, 2024, Sneako’s Twitch channel was indefinitely suspended due to what the platform described as “extreme hateful conduct.” According to the official Twitch email, the ban was a result of behavior that promoted or facilitated discrimination or denigration of others based on their protected characteristics. Specifically, the email highlighted conduct that involved promoting racism, xenophobia, and religious intolerance. It also warned against participating in or supporting hate groups’ activities.

The timing of Sneako’s ban was notable, as it coincided with the suspension of another popular streamer, Morgan “Frogan,” who was banned for 30 days. Frogan had gone viral for her controversial comments on the U.S. military and a tier list she created during TwitchCon 2024. However, Sneako’s case is more severe, given the permanent nature of his ban, which Twitch justified by pointing to a pattern of harmful behavior.
Sneako himself has been vocal about his discontent with Twitch’s moderation practices, often accusing the platform of inconsistency. During a Kick stream on October 22, 2024, the same day his Twitch ban was enforced, Sneako lashed out at Twitch for what he saw as unfair treatment of other streamers. He specifically called out the temporary 14-day ban of streamer Zack “Asmongold,” who faced backlash for controversial comments about Muslims and the Palestine-Gaz a conflict. Sneako criticized Twitch for what he perceived as leniency toward Asmongold, comparing the 14-day suspension to his own permanent ban.

He also expressed frustration that Twitch had not banned Hasan “HasanAbi” despite past controversial remarks. Sneako highlighted what he saw as a double standard, pointing out HasanAbi’s infamous “America deserves 9/11” comment, which did not result in a suspension. “HasanAbi can say, ‘America deserves 9/11,’ and he’s getting a round of applause on his birthday by the Twitch staff,” Sneako said, comparing it to Asmongold’s temporary ban. His comments were laced with mockery, as he described Asmongold in a mocking tone, seemingly ridiculing his demeanor during the stream.
Though Sneako hinted at a desire to “crash out” of the livestreaming industry during his Kick broadcast, he stopped short of doing so, stating that he wanted to be more “diplomatic” about his situation. However, his latest ban may mark a significant turning point in his career on mainstream platforms.

Sneako’s permanent ban comes amidst growing scrutiny of Twitch’s moderation policies, especially regarding hate speech, discrimination, and platform consistency. His departure from Twitch follows a broader trend of internet personalities facing consequences for controversial behavior, and it remains to be seen how Sneako will navigate his career following this latest setback. With platforms like Rumble and Kick offering alternatives, it’s possible he will continue his streaming career elsewhere, albeit with a tarnished reputation on mainstream platforms.
