Selena Gomez skips SAG Awards red carpet: Here’s why

Although Selena Gomez series Only Murders in the Building was nominated, she didn’t make it to the West Coast for the SAG Awards. Unlike her costars Cara Delevingne and Ashley Park, Gomez did not pose on the red carpet. Gomez and her two costars, Martin Short and Steve Martin, did not attend the ceremony in person. After thirty minutes of the broadcast, Gomez had not appeared on the show. Considering she is filming Season 3 of the show in New York City and is not individually nominated, her absence isn’t surprising. Only Murders in the Building is nominated for three awards, including Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Comedy Series. The two co-stars Selena Gomez are also competing against each other in the Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Comedy Series category, but neither is advancing.

In a recent interview with Vanity Fair, Gomez discussed her relationships with Short and Martin. She said she really loves them. They are kind of like my grandpas, even though I don’t like to call them that. The same jokes would be told over and over, and every time I’d laugh out loud. The only way they communicate is through text messages. Marty texts me but Steve doesn’t. I find that funny. He has my email address, but he won’t send it to me. He will forward it to [my assistant]. I think he is trying to be polite. I find it very endearing, but he makes it into a whole thing. The documentary My Mind and Me also discusses her experience of sharing her bipolar depression publicly and showing her mental health journey.

Selena Gomez Skipped The Red Carpet At The 2023 Screen Actors Guild Awards
On February 26, Selena Gomez slayed at the 2023 Screen Actors Guild Awards! While she didn’t attend the red carpet, the Only Murders in the Building star was part of the opening sketch with fellow nominees Martin Short and Steve Martin. During the sketch, Selena Gomez facilitates a fight between Martin and Steve after they learn they’re both nominated for the same award. Fortunately, Selena Gomez assures them both that they’re probably going to lose. In spite of her not being nominated for an individual award, Selena is up for Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Comedy Series along with her castmates. For the second year in a row, they are nominated (they lost to Ted Lasso in 2022). For the second year in a row, Sel’s co-stars Steve Martin and Martin Short are also nominated for Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Comedy Series.
Selena Gomez was nominated for Best Actress in a Television Series (Musical or Comedy) at the Golden Globes earlier this year for her role as Mabel in the Hulu show. As for Selena Gomez, she has been embroiled in some online drama ahead of the SAG Awards, which has led her to take another break from social media. Kylie Jenner and Hailey Bieber were alleged to have shaded Selena on Instagram when fans complained. In October 2022, Selena and Hailey seemed to put their beef over Justin Bieber to rest with photos together, but this recent online drama has fans buzzing about possible tension once more.
