Selena Gomez reacts to ‘tasteless’ organ transplant joke on the TV show ‘The Good Fight’

Who doesn’t know Selena Gomez?? She doesn’t need an introduction as she has won many hearts across the world. Recently, she has been in news for her tweets on jokes on the TV Show ‘The Good Fight’.

Selena underwent a kidney transplant in 2017 to help her with lupus. But, many TV Shows drag it in their jokes. This time Selena Gomez got offended.

She replied through her tweet, ” I’m not sure how writing jokes about organ transplant for Television Shows has become a thing but sadly it has appeared.” She continued in her tweet, “I hope in the next writer’s room when one of these tasteless jokes are presented it’s called out immediately and doesn’t make it on air.”

She even left a link containing sign-up for people to become organ donors at the end of her tweet.

In that scene of ‘The Good Fight’, the characters were discussing the sensitivity and effects of cancel culture in comedy. Later they also mentioned “Selena Gomez’s kidney transplant” among other topics like necrophilia and autism.

Other Similar Incidents

This isn’t the first time as I said, TV Shows have dragged her surgery in her jokes. NBC’s Streaming Platform has given an apology to Selena. It mentioned her surgery several times in Show ‘Saved by the Bell Reboot’ last November.

The apology said, “We apologise, It was never our intention to make light of Selena’s health.” This Statement was released by Variety.

It even donated to Selena’s Charity- The Selena Gomez’s Fund for Lupus Research at USC.
