Selena Gomez says critics who don’t like her should “go away” if they don’t like her. She’s not a model and “never will be.” After receiving criticism for her appearance during a TikTok live, she revealed she has been experiencing dramatic weight fluctuations due to the medication she is taking for her lupus. When I take it, I tend to hold a lot of water weight, and that’s very normal. As a result of being off of it, Gomez tends to lose weight, she said in a video posted on Twitter. As she continued, I wanted to encourage anyone who feels ashamed for what they’re going through and that no one knows what really happened.

Gomez, despite the stress it has put on her mental health, tries to keep focused on the bigger picture: her health. It’s just that I want to let people know that you are beautiful and wonderful. There are days when we feel like sā€“t, but I prefer to be healthy and take care of myself. There is no doubt that my medications are important to me, and that they are the things that keep me healthy. According to The Only Murders in the Building actress, she is not a model and never will be.

In Response To Her Weight Gain, Selena Gomez Shares Her Thoughts

Selena Gomez clapped back at body shamers who have been attacking her appearance – and explained that she fluctuates in weight due to lupus medication. Water weight is very normal for me, and I tend to hold a lot of it. And then when Iā€™m off of [my medication], by the time Iā€™m off of [my medication], I tend to lose weight, Gomez, 30, said in a TikTok Live video shared via Twitter. If you’re feeling ashamed of what you’re going for and no one knows the real story, I just wanted to let you know that you are beautiful and wonderful. Sure, we all have days where we feel like crap, but I’d rather be healthy and take care of myself rather than feel sā€”t all the time. The Only Murders in the Building star explained that she relies on her medications, saying, I’m not a model, and never will be. While I do think they’re awesome, I am definitely not one. Before asking haters to keep their negativity at bay, Gomez thanks her fans for understanding and supporting her. And if not, go away because I don’t believe in shaming people based on their body, she said. In 2014, the Wizards of Waverly Place alum was diagnosed with lupus for the first time. She underwent a kidney transplant with her longtime friend Francia Raisa three years later.

The condition is described by the Mayo Clinic as a disease in which the immune system attacks the body’s own tissues and organs. Over the years, Selena Gomez has been open about her health struggles and has often clapped back at critics. As a result of trolls commenting on her figure after the 2023 Golden Globes, the “Bad Liar” singer made headlines last month. During a January Instagram Live, she said she’s a little big now because she enjoyed herself during the holidays. I mean, come on, right? But we don’t care, she said as Miley Cyrus’ “Do My Thang” blared in the background as she asked her 9-year-old sister Gracie. Earlier this year, the “Lose You to Love Me” singer shared her thoughts about trying to diet and refusing to restrain herself due to criticism. As I’m trying to stay slim, I went to Jack in the Box and ordered four tacos, three egg rolls, onion rings, and a spicy chicken sandwich. I’m not worried about my weight since people always complain about it. It doesn’t fit you, you’re too small, you’re too big. Meh meh meh meh. Although Selena Gomez doesn’t let the body shamers ruin her fun, the former Disney Channel star has spoken openly about what it’s like to have people judge her appearance due to a lifetime medication.
