Ruthie Tompson Dies: Disney Animation Legend & Animation Pioneer was 111

Ruthie Tompson, a pioneering Disney animation artist who started working on “Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs,”. “Pinocchio,” and plenty of other animations over her 40-year career at the studio, passed away at the age of 111.

Tompson spent over forty years at The Walt Disney Studios. Leaving in 1975 while finishing this course on “The Rescuers.”. She was among the only three girls to be asked to enter the International Photography Union, IATSE Local 659.

Ruthie Tompson was born on July 22, 1910, in Portland, Maine, but reared in Boston, Massachusetts.
