Roy Wood Jr. could take over as the next at Comedy Central’s The Daily Show after Trevor Noah announced his departure nearly after seven years of his tenure.

According to multiple sources, Comedy Central executives are considering Roy Wood Jr. to potentially host The Daily Show.
If you didn’t know Roy joined the series in 2015 and over time has become one of the show’s most recognizable faces in the industry. He is also regarded to be among the leading correspondents in the network.
Hence, the officials at Comedy Central insist Roy is the perfect fit to be promoted to the series host.
Furthermore, insiders have told TMZ that Roy’s contract with the network is coming to an end soon. Subsequently, the executives are worried that he will also leave the network due to his demand on the stand-up circuit.
They believe that promoting Roy to a position as a host is the best way to keep him connected with the broadcasting channel.
Roy on the other hand is gaining more fame with his recent works such as Confess, Fletch.
Trevor Noah to leave The Daily Show after seven years
Trevor Noah took to The Daily Show to share the news of his departure with the audience on Thursday evening. He further opened up about his plans.
Noah revealed, ‘I’ve loved hosting this show. It’s been one of my greatest challenges. It’s been one of my greatest joys. I’ve loved trying to figure out how to make people laugh even when the stories are particularly shitty on the worst days.’
