3 min readSinger Ricky Martin was recently accused of incest and alleged abuse by his 21-year-old nephew.
Here is everything you need to know.
Ricky Martin accused of incest and abuse
Ricky Martin was issued a domestic-violence-related restraining order in Puerto Rica earlier this month.
The victim’s identity was withheld at the time. However, according to a Spanish news outlet, Marca singer’s brother Eric has identified the alleged victim to be Martin’s 21-year-old nephew Dennis Yadiel Sanchez.
Dennis is the son of the Latin pop star’s sister, Vanessa Martin.
Puerto Rican publication El Vocero reported that Dennis claimed to be in a seven-month-long relationship with Martin.
The youngster accused the Maria musician of ‘exercising physical and psychological attacks’ on him during their relationship. He also revealed that their pair separated about two months ago.
Dennis also claimed that the married father of four ‘did not take their breakup well’ and would wander near his house at least three times.

Ricky Martin denies the allegations
Ricky Martin’s attorney denied all the alleged claims while talking with TMZ on Friday.
The lawyer said, ‘Unfortunately, the person who made this claim is struggling with deep mental health challenges. Ricky Martin has, of course, never been – and would never be – involved in any kind of s*xual or romantic relationship with his nephew.’
The rep continued that Martin and his legal team are looking forward to the case being dismissed.
They mentioned, ‘The idea is not only untrue, but it is also disgusting. We all hope that this man gets the help he so urgently needs. But, most of all, we look forward to this awful case being dismissed as soon as a judge gets to look at the facts.’
Martin himself took to Twitter to state that the restraining order issued against him was based on ‘completely false allegations.’
The singer wrote in his tweet, ‘The protection order entered against me is based on completely false allegations, so I will respond through the judicial process with the facts and the dignity that characterize me.’
The singer’s attorney echoed similar feelings while being interviewed by The New York Post.
They argued, ‘The allegations against Ricky Martin that led to a protection order are completely false and fabricated. We are very confident that when the facts come out in this matter our client Ricky Martin will be fully vindicated.’
Ricky Martin was last captured while filming for his new AppleTV+ miniseries in Los Angeles.
