Redding-based Bethel Church co-pastor Beni Johnson passes away after battling cancer

Beni Johnson, Bethel Church co-pastor; an author; Bible teacher; intercessor; and the wife of Pastor Bill Johnson, had unfortunately passed away after battling cancer.

Bethel Church co-pastor Beni Johnson died at the age of 67
Bill Johnson took to his Facebook early Tuesday to announce the death of his wife, Beni Johnson.
The post included an image of his Beni with the caption that reads that she is now ‘healthy and free.’
He further revealed that Beni died on the 13th of July. The message had amassed more than 10,000 comments by 11 am.
Bill and Beni’s son, Brian Johnson who is also a worship leader at Bethel Church said in an Instagram post, ‘My mom went home tonight. Love you, mom.’
Their other son, Eric also wrote in an Instagram post, ‘I love you, mom. See you on the other side.’
Furthermore, the pair’s only daughter, Leah Valenzuela mentioned, ‘Momma I love you beyond words! You have been the best mom anyone could ever hope for but not only that, you have been my best friend.’
She continued, ‘It is such an honor to be your daughter. You are my hero (well and daddy). I love you! See you in heaven!’
Beni Johnson’s health struggles
Beni Johnson was diagnosed with breast cancer back in March 2018. During that time, she confirmed that doctors had discovered two lumps in her right breast. However, they were removed immediately.
She said in 2018, ‘When this all began in March and I walked out of the doctor’s office shocked. I asked Jesus, ‘what do I do now?’ I heard Jesus tell me, ‘just love me.’ I said, ‘I can do this.’
Unfortunately, things got worse because shortly after doctors learned that Beni had a mutation in her BRCA2 gene, which has a higher risk of developing other cancers.
Regardless, in February this year, the Redding, California-based Bethel Church started a prayer campaign for their pastor’s health. They asked believers to stand with them after it was reported that Beni was having a struggle breathing.
In one of their post they wrote, ‘As many of you already know, Beni Johnson has been on a health journey of overcoming cancer. We’ve been praying consistently, and she has experienced a measure of breakthrough.’

A few days ago, the church revealed that Beni was undergoing chemotherapy treatment at the at-home hospice care.
Beni Johnson left behind a husband, three children, and eleven grandchildren.
