Racist allegations associated with Mark Wahlberg resurfaces amid Hallow app endorsement

A few social media commercials featuring Mark Wahlberg endorsing the Catholic app Hallow surfaced at the end of June. These Hallow-sponsored advertisements included a photo of Wahlberg holding his phone and possibly using the app.

A netizen tweeted a screenshot of the advertising that included a promotional image with the following text:

“Join Mark Wahlberg in prayer only on Hallow, the #1 Catholic app.”

Wahlberg’s adverts have been on social media since April, according to their Instagram. Additionally, the application and the actor’s movie Father Stu (2022). However, some Twitter users brought up the racial accusations against the Transformers actor after the current advertising.

Mark Wahlberg’s name is once again linked to racist claims in light of the Hallow app endorsement

Many people on social media voiced their amazement at the Wahlberg-starring Hallow app. A few tweets also criticised Wahlberg for alleged racist acts in the past. These tweets drew attention to the actor’s numerous accusations of racial harassment when he was a teenager.

According to one user, Mark Wahlberg may be a racist, an average actor, a Christian, and a felon, but the worst thing about him is that he is from Boston.

Another stated that Mark Wahlberg should spend the rest of his life pleading with God for forgiveness for the numerous instances of racist violence that he committed in his life.

While someone other remarked, “Boston is racist as hell; have you guys seen Mark Wahlberg?”

The Independent claims that in 1986, when Wahlberg was 15 years old, he and three of his friends chased three black children. They allegedly shouted racial epithets and stones at them, according to the charges. He received a civil rights injunction as a result of these assaults. However, according to reports, the accusations were resolved in a month.

The actor attacked two Vietnamese guys while under the influence of drugs two years later, when he was 17 years old. Wahlberg then punched one of them in the eye and beat the other one with a wooden stick. The actor is also charged with disparaging them racially. He allegedly said, “Vietnam f***ing s***,” to them.

Mark Wahlberg was charged with attempted murder for the aforementioned attacks in 1988 and received a two-year prison term. He ultimately received a 45-day punishment for his racially motivated crime, nevertheless.

According to reports, Wahlberg advised the viewers of one of his video advertisements for the Hallow Catholic app to “keep prayed up.” The actor reportedly uttered the following:

“Let’s do the Rosary together and stay prayed up.”

Mark Wahlberg had three prayers available in the app, per an Instagram post dated April 13 for the app. These included The Anima Christi, The Rosary, and The Holy Spirit Prayer. Additionally, they published unique prayers from Father Stu, the actor’s 2022 film. The 51-year-old Boston native also favored numerous posts that included his account on the app’s main Instagram page.

Additionally, back in March, Mark Wahlberg posted a silent video on his social media accounts promoting the Hallow app. The advertisement addressed the Catholic holiday of Lent as well as Hallow’s “Pray40” social challenge. Wahlberg’s involvement with the app appears to have started with their collaboration with Father Stu.
