USA President Joe Biden talks about gun control
Joe Biden’s statements on ‘Jimmy Kimmel Live! ‘ comes after an ongoing debate on ways to prevent gun violence at the height of the Uvalde school massacre.
On 24th May, a deadly gun shooting unfolded at Robb Elementary school located in Uvalde. An 18-year-old high schooler, Salvador Ramos, opened fire at the school killing 19 students and two teachers.
The shooter was shot dead at the scene by an off-duty Customs and Border Protection agent from an elite unit.
Regardless, the police force faced harsh criticism for allegedly failing to stop the incident quickly enough and not rescuing the victims in time.

Host Jimmy Kimmel pressed Biden on the subject. He mentioned how former US President Donald Trump issued executive orders ‘like Halloween candy.’
He asked, ‘Can’t you issue an executive order? Trump passed those out like Halloween candy.’
Biden responded by saying that he granted executive decisions ‘within the power of the presidency.’
The president added, ‘I often get asked, “Look, the Republicans don’t play it square, why do you play it square?” Well, guess what? If we do the same thing they do, our democracy will literally be in jeopardy.’
I see your point, but this is different. We’re in a crisis, and you have to do everything- absolutely everything- to protect our children from getting murdered at school. Executive orders were made for this moment in history.

He further pointed out, ‘It’s like you’re playing Monopoly with somebody who won’t pass Go and won’t follow any of the rules.’
Kimmel then questioned Biden about how they make progress if they are not following the rules.
The congressman replied, ‘Well, you gotta send ’em to jail,’ referencing the board game.
If our government can’t do anything after 19 kids are slaughtered and several decapitated it’s time to change who’s in government.

This is how it’s going to go. Trump abused the executive order. Now Biden won’t use the EO bc he doesn’t want to emulate Trump. Next Republican president will abuse the EO. The next Dem pres won’t as not to emulate the Repubs.
