Johnny Depp took to his Instagram account on ith June Wednesday to announce that a new project with Hedy Lamarr is in the making.
Lamarr passed away in 2000.
He teased his 25 million followers by uploading a famous black and white photo of the Hollywood actress. He outlined the post with a caption that read, ‘Soon… X.’
In the picture, Lamarr is seen donning an elaborate headpiece made of stars.
Depp also credited Lamarr’s estate and CMG Worldwide for the photo.
Fans speculate that it might be a new song
Johnny Depp’s fans are convinced that the actor has written a song about the late actress after he reportedly performed a song called Hedy Lamarr while he was touring with Jeff Beck.
The original track was a tribute to Lamarr. Regardless snippets of Depp singing the guitar ballad in Manchester are flooding over the social media platforms.
Earlier this week, Depp shared a fanmade TikTok video on his Instagram story. The clip consisted of a list of his tracks including a record called Hedy Lamarr.
Who was Hedy Lamarr?
Hedy Lamarr was an Austrian-American actress and inventor. She is known to be one of the greatest actresses of all time.
She was born in November 1914 and met Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer after she fled from her Austrian husband.
MGM was the studio head of Louis B. Mayer in London and offered Lamarr an acting contract.
Lamarr’s greatest success was for her performance in the 1949 biblical film Samson and Delilah.
Additionally, she has appeared in several big Hollywood movies such as Algiers, Lady of the Tropics, Boom Town, and White Cargo.
