Information on bipolar disorder

As per the information on Web MD, bipolar disorder is a mental illness that severely fluctuates a person’s mood. The disorder is also referred to as a manic depression.

People suffering from bipolar disorder can have segments where they seem to be happy and energized. Similarly, there can be times when they may feel extremely sad and hopeless. Most of the time, the person can feel normal during the gap between the two moods.

Few symptoms of mania episodes (the high) are hopefulness and excitement. People might feel like they have more energy and do not need to sleep.

Furthermore, some symptoms seen during the depressive period (the low) are sadness, loss of energy, and trouble concentrating.
