Nicki Minaj’s father Robert Maraj died in a car accident
It was way back in February last year that a businessman Charles Polevich hit Nicki Minaj’s father Robert Maraj with his vehicle as he was walking on a road in Mineola. The incident happened in the month of February and the singer’s father was left badly injured after the accident.
In fact, the businessman driver Charles didn’t call the police after the accident and instead ran away from the spot leaving Maraj to die. Following the day the accident happened, Maraj died. However, the accusation of the accident was caught later.
Businessman Charles was the accused in the fatal accident
The accident accused Charles Polevich was involved in the fatal accident as after the accident, he did come out of the car but then ran away. Charles admitted he didn’t call the cops after the accident. Instead, he went and parked his car in the garage.
After parking, he went on to cover his car with a tarp. Owing to this, the businessman was charged with tampering with evidence. However, after a year of the fatal accident, the accused has been given a verdict for his committed crime.
Charles Polevich sentenced to one year in jail
The court dealing with the case of the fatal car accident that cost the life of Robert Maraj has finally given its verdict. While Charles Polevich, 71 is only to be in jail for 1 year. His license has been suspended. The sentence is however due on August 3rd.
Following the verdict on Charles Polevich, Carol Maraj, wife of Robert Maraj is not happy. Nicki’s mother as per reports was shaking after the sentence was announced thinking about the struggle of her husband fighting for his life in the hospital. Prosecutors too were not happy with the verdict on Charles.
