Recently, Nicki Minaj disclosed that she has not taken the vaccine yet and clarified the reason for not being present at the 2021 Met Gala.
Met Gala is one of the most celebrated events. It took place on the 13th of September at the Metropolitan Museum of Art. Many celebrities attended the event such as Kim Kardashian, Megan Fox, Billie Eilish, Addison Rae, and many others.
About Met Gala
It is one of the most high-profile events of the year. People usually wait for a whole year for this event. But last year, it got canceled led due to a pandemic. It created more curiosity and excitement about fans. It usually takes place in May but this year also it was postponed. Since 1955, the editor of American Vogue, Anna Wintour carefully keeps the eye on the guest list. Through them also, one came to know that Nicki Minaj is invited to the event. This year, one more rule came before the audience that every guest has to be vaccinated for attending Met Gala.
Why is Nicki not vaccinated?
Well, the rapper took to Twitter and wrote a series of tweets to clarify her reasons. She said that she has been “working on” for now and doing research.
Adding to it, Nicki said that she will get vaccinated at the right time not especially for the Met. She also urged the people to be safe and wear proper masks in her tweet.
However, Nicki gave birth to a baby boy in September last year. It can be a reason for Nicki Minaj to miss Met Gala and not travel to New York.
She got more aware after this and then requested others, “So just pray on it & make sure you’re comfortable with ur decision, not bullied”. But Researchers didn’t prove any such thing. Nicki shared several screenshots with some questions like “But notice how NONE of them mentioned that? Ask yourself why that was.”
Furthermore, when Nicki alleged that her friend suffered after vaccination as her testicles became swollen. She received a counterblast. As also mentioned by The Independent that Impotency or engorged genitals are not on the list of Centers for Disease Control and Prevention as the side effects of Covid vaccines.
Will Nicki get vaccinated?
Nicki Minaj cleared that she will get the vaccines but the reason was incredible. She said at some point in time she will have to take the vaccine because “A lot of countries won’t let ppl work w/o the vaccine… As well cuz I have to go on tour, etc.”
Twitter’s Reaction
Though, Twitter has not declared Nicki’s tweets in violation of its rules. Also, it didn’t even mark her tweets including ‘misleading information’ about the side effects of the Covid vaccine. Twitter Spokesperson explained this and said they “are not in violation of the Twitter Rules.”
Who else didn’t attend Met Gala?
Due to different reasons, many celebrities didn’t attend Met Gala this year.
As for Zendaya, she was busy shooting for Euphoria. She apologized to her fans and said, “My fans will be very upset with me.” But, that Venice experience is really special for her.
On the other hand, Sarah Jessica Parker too didn’t attend the event. She was busy shooting for Sex and the City reboot.
Some other celebs who too didn’t attend Met Gala include Beyonce, Blake Lively, and Selena Gomez. However, they have not revealed the reason behind not being present at Met Gala.
