Social media erupted in surprise and disbelief after political commentator Nick Fuentes made an astonishing claim about rapper Kanye West during his August 21, 2024, live stream on Rumble. Fuentes alleged that West once considered changing his name to the Swastika symbol, leaving the internet buzzing with reactions.

In a video clip that quickly went viral, Fuentes recounted a bizarre conversation he allegedly had with Kanye. He claimed the rapper called him one afternoon with an outrageous idea. Fuentes recalled, “He told me he wanted to change his name to a swastika. Not making this up… He called me up out of the blue one afternoon and he’s like, ‘So what if I changed my name to a Swastika?’ And he starts laughing and I start dying.”

Fuentes further detailed that Kanye did not intend to use the word “Swastika” but rather the symbol itself. According to Fuentes, Kanye’s reasoning was that the symbol would force media outlets to display it whenever his name was mentioned. Fuentes continued, “I’m like, that’s the funniest thing I’ve ever heard… he goes, ‘Because then when they say my name, they’ll have to put a Swastika on TV.’ I’m like, ‘Wouldn’t they just put the letters though?’ He goes, ‘No, no, no.’ He goes, ‘No, I’m not changing my name to the word.’ He corrected me.”

As the video spread across social media, users were quick to react, often with a mix of disbelief and humor. One Twitter user quipped, “Best rapper? Best COMEDIAN of the century!” Another commented on the absurdity of the situation, writing, “2022 Kanye needs to be studied cause wtf was going on in his brain.” Skepticism was also evident, with one person remarking, “Imagine believing Nick Fuentes.”

Others expressed concern over Kanye’s increasingly erratic behavior. “That is funny to say when you are a teen, that’s not funny to say when you’re 40 with 2 kids,” noted another commenter. Some questioned why Fuentes, a controversial figure himself, was even in contact with the rapper. “Why is he talking to you anyway? It’s always these random white ppl who get to be around Ye,” observed a user on Twitter.

Kanye West, who legally changed his name to “Ye” in 2021, has often been at the center of public controversies. The rapper first announced his desire to be known as “Ye” in 2018, tweeting, “I am the being formally known as Kanye West. I am Ye.” He later filed a legal petition to make the change official, citing “personal reasons.” A judge approved the name change in October 2021, making “Ye” his official moniker.

Despite the uproar sparked by Fuentes’ claims, Kanye West has not publicly responded to the allegations. As social media users continue to discuss and debate the credibility of Fuentes’ story, the rapper’s silence only adds to the intrigue surrounding this bizarre revelation.
