Netflix Officially Confirmed Bae Suzy And Yang Se-jong As The Leads For Upcoming Series Doona

The Netflix streaming service announced on 12th December that Bae Suzy and Yang Se-jong would star in the upcoming romance series Doona! based on Min Song-ah’s webtoon The Girl Downstairs. Lee Jung-Hyo, who directed Crash Landing on You, will helm the series. In addition to Life on Mars and Romance is a Bonus Book, the director has directed much other successful television series. Doona! The story is about a budding romance between a retired K-pop idol and a typical college student. The two will have to share a house due to unavoidable circumstances. Yang Se-jong will portray Won Joon, an ordinary university student, and Bae Suzy will portray retired K-pop idol Lee Doo-na. In 2010, Suzy made her debut with the second-generation K-pop group Miss A.
Her acting career began in 2011 when she appeared in the KBS television series “Dream High.” Despite concentrating on acting in recent years, she has experimented with a variety of music styles through her solo digital singles. With Bae Suzy in Doona, Yang Se-jong makes his K-drama comeback after being discharged from the military on 15th November 2021. A popular actor, Yang Se-jong has played roles in dramas such as Temperature of Love, Thirty But Seventeen, My Country: The New Age, and Duel. In season 2 of Dr. Romantic in 2020, he also made a cameo appearance. Shin Hye-sun, Kim Seol-Hyun, Seo Hyun-jin, and many other prominent actresses have been paired with Yang Se-jong.
Bae Suzy and Yang Se-jong Are Confirmed To Star In Netflix Upcoming Romance Series Doona
The Korean webtoon adaptation Doona! has been commissioned by Netflix, under the direction of Crash Landing On You director Lee Jung-Hyo, and reveals new stats on Korean content consumption globally by 2022. Doona! will star Suzy and Yang Se-jong. An ordinary college student and a K-pop star embark on a romance in this coming-of-age story. In addition to being a former member of the K-pop group Miss A, Suzy has appeared in several web series, including Start-Up, Anna, and Uncontrollably Fond. Dr. Romantic, Temperature Of Love, and Still 17 are some of Yang’s credits. Doona is based on a popular Naver webtoon! Production is carried out by Studio Dragon, Showrunners, and Studio N. Doona is about an aspiring university student and a former K-pop idol who develop a romantic relationship. A house will have to be shared by the duo due to unavoidable circumstances.
Yang Se-jong will portray Won Joon, a university student, while Bae Suzy will portray retired K-pop idol Lee Doo-na. As Lee Doo-na, Bae Suzy portrays an influential and famous K-pop idol. Although Doo-na was the lead vocalist of her group, unforeseen circumstances forced her to announce her retirement and notify everyone that she would no longer be involved. The former idol moves into a shared house near a university after retiring from the K-pop group. Yang Se-jong plays Won Joon, who shares his house with Doo-na just like any other college student. Yang Se-jong initially tries to avoid Doo-na as they begin living together, but gradually becomes intrigued by her mysterious life and tries to figure out why she has given up all her fame. Netflix’s upcoming eight-part series Doona is scheduled for release in 2023.
