The sensationalized defamation libel case between Johnny Depp and Amber Heard might be finished but people who stand by the actress are far over it.

Depp remains to be ridiculed by Heard’s supporters more so after the jury announced the verdict largely in favor of the actor.

Regardless, the National Coalition Against Domestic Violence was recently slammed on the internet after they spoke in favor of Heard.

Here is everything you need to know.

National Coalition Against Domestic Violence faces backlash from netizens for supporting Amber Heard

Ruth Glenn, CEO of the National Coalition Against Domestic Violence recently spoke with TMZ regarding the backlash they are receiving on social media.

According to the outlet, the group has been blockaded by Johnny Depp’s supporters on all fronts after they released a statement in favor of Amber Heard last week.

Glenn mentioned that they are receiving heated comments from the netizens.

Some of them reportedly called out that NCADV does not believe that men can be abused in a relationship. While others stated that the victims who have been domestically abused in actuality would favor Depp.

Glenn added that many users continued to attack Heard and described her as a liar or a ‘psycho’.

Few users are pointing out the leaders of NCADV and calling them pro-Amber.

The statement released by NCADV read that they were ‘appalled by the verdict.’

During the interview, Glenn admitted that the organization believes the Aquaman actress to be the victim in the high-profile defamation case despite the jury’s verdict stating otherwise.

Glenn also told us that the hateful comments that Heard and her supporters are receiving are uncalled. She mentions that Ray Rice was not even dragged this much publicly following his 2014 infamous domestic violence case.

Ruth Glenn stance on the case affecting #MeToo movement

Glenn also made a few comments over the people saying that the case represented the ‘death’ of #MeToo.

She responded to them by saying that the movement will not face trouble permanently.

However, she implied that the verdict might cause the domestically abused victims to come forward and speak on the subject.

Regardless, not all organizations pledging to support Domestic Violence victims are on the same page with NCADV.

An Italian-based group called Mission NGO spoke in favor of the Pirates of the Caribbean’s actor support.

The NGO was led by ex-Miss Italy Valeria Altobelli. She showed ‘compassion’ for Depp at the height of the trial.
