YouTube sensation Jimmy ‘MrBeast’ Donaldson, known for his larger-than-life videos, has revealed jaw-dropping details about his upcoming Amazon show, Beast Games. In a recent appearance on Logan Paul’s IMPAULSIVE podcast, the YouTuber disclosed that the highly anticipated game show had a staggering $100 million budget, designed to set new standards in entertainment.
MrBeast, the most-subscribed creator on YouTube, has long been known for pushing boundaries with viral content. However, as his fame continues to grow, so does the criticism directed toward him. Beast Games has been embroiled in controversy, with reports of crew members getting injured on set and contestants accusing the production of “inhumane” working conditions. Despite this backlash, Donaldson remains focused on the show, teasing its potential to break numerous world records and “blow viewers’ minds.”
A lot of this podcast is spent shilling Lunchly, but Jimmy did drop some new info on the money spent on Beast Games.
MrBeast claimed that he gave away $20 million, spent $15 million building the city, and "spent way more than $100 million" on the whole production. https://t.co/dTPh1yYEOI— Steven Asarch (@IAmAsarch) October 2, 2024Advertisement
During the podcast, MrBeast highlighted the scale of the production, claiming they shattered over 40 world records while filming Beast Games. These include having the most contestants in a game show, offering the largest cash prize, and using the most cameras ever in a single production. “If there’s a world record for game shows, we broke it,” Donaldson said. He expressed his excitement for viewers to see the final product, describing the ten-episode series as far more elaborate than his YouTube videos. “Every episode makes my YouTube videos look like child’s play,” he boasted.
Part of the show’s extravagant budget was used to build a fully enclosed “walled-in city” where contestants lived throughout the duration of the filming, costing $15 million alone. On top of that, MrBeast revealed that he gave away more than $20 million in prizes, including a massive $5 million grand prize for the show’s winner.
While Beast Games is generating significant hype, the controversy surrounding the production hasn’t gone unnoticed. The YouTuber has faced legal battles, with contestants suing him over alleged poor working conditions, and there were also reports of crew members being hospitalized after set pieces fell during filming. However, neither Donaldson nor his podcast co-hosts, Logan Paul and KSI, addressed these issues during the episode.
The timing of the podcast also coincided with the launch of Lunchly, a collaborative product between MrBeast, Logan Paul, and KSI. Like Beast Games
Despite ongoing scrutiny, MrBeast remains focused on his ventures, particularly Beast Games, which he believes will be a groundbreaking project. While he has yet to comment publicly on the criticisms related to the show, the YouTuber’s bold claims and unprecedented $100 million investment have kept fans eagerly awaiting its release. Only time will tell if Beast Games will live up to its hype or if the ongoing controversies will overshadow the production’s success.
