Mila Kunis confirmed that she was 14 years old when she bagged the iconic role of Jackie Burkhart in the series ‘That ’70s Show.’

Mila Kunis admits that she lied about her age to land ‘That ’70s Show’

Mila Kunis recently sat down with Vanity Fair where she addressed the long-circulating rumor about how she landed her breakout role in That ’70s Show.

Moreover, the now 39-year-old shares that she lied about her age when she auditioned for the show. She told the producer she was 18 years old when in reality she was only 14 years old. 

Kunis began with, ‘There’s a rumor going around that I may or may not have lied about my age. I’d like to make it very clear now that I did lie. I did.’

Furthermore, she mentioned that the show’s co-creators Bonnie and Terry Turner were aware of her real age before she started filming.

The Friends with Benefits clarified, ‘However, by the time I went to what was then a producer’s network call…you have to sign a contract before you get the job and in my contract, I had to put an asterisk for ‘studio teacher.”‘

She went on to recall, ‘They were like, “What do you mean?” And I was like, “Oh P.S., I’m 14.” But at that point, if you talk to the creators, they were like, “We loved you at that point so what did we care?”‘

Subsequently, she continued, ‘It was in the heyday of older kids playing younger kids. I was actually of the age of the character.’

Mila Kunis shared that her life on filming set at the age of 14 was not that difficult.

She said, ‘I was never treated as lesser than. If I did by one of the cast members another cast member would stand up for it.’

Kunis also pointed out, ‘The reason I don’t do drugs was because nobody on the set did. And I looked up to them at 14. The trajectory of my career could’ve gone any which way…but the set was cool.’

Meanwhile, Kunis is all set to reprise her role in Netflix’s sequel series That ’90s Show. She will be paired alongside her husband Ashton Kutcher in the upcoming show.
