A heartbreaking admission by the 61-year-old Hollywood star informs us that he doesn’t expect to live to see his 80th birthday. Michael was 29 years old when he was diagnosed with Parkinson’s in 1991, and he made the news public nine years later. A number of interviews are scheduled with Michael, who has been campaigning and raising funds for decades to raise Parkinson’s awareness.

According to a preview of his CBS Sunday Morning interview, he stated: If I have to pack Parkinson’s along with me, I can. It’s heartbreaking, because he added: “I have been thinking about the mortality of it… I’m not gonna be 80.” His team is looking for new ways to diagnose and treat Parkinson’s disease. The concept of a biomarker… a way to detect disease before it appears. My pinky twitched a little when I was diagnosed, but…this is a great way to detect the disease early and help progress and essentially cure it. He explained how difficult it is for him to manage his own condition. I’m not going to lie, it’s getting more difficult by the day . It gets tougher every day. However, that’s the way it is. The Back to the Future actor will explore and discuss his condition in a documentary titled Still: A Michael J. Fox Movie, set to air on Apple TV+ next month. Show clips have featured clips from the documentary, including how the star’s wife, Tracy Pollan, reacted when he was diagnosed. After revealing the news of his diagnosis, she whispered in sickness and in health. Their relationship began while Tracy was cast as his character’s love interest on “Family Ties” in 1985, and the couple married in 1988. They have four children together: Sam, twins Aquinnah Kathleen and Schuyler Frances, and another daughter, Esmé Annabelle.
