Prosecutors are seeking a 13-year prison sentence for Tory Lanez for Megan Thee Stallion’s shooting

The prosecutors in Los Angeles have filed a 12-page memorandum to Judge David Herriford with their sentencing suggestion for Tory Lanez, who is slated to expect his fate next week.

Furthermore, prosecutors Kathy Ta and Alexander Bott said in the document that they are seeking for the rap star to receive a minimum of 13 years behind bars without probation. They gave further pointed out all his transgressions during pre as well as the post-trial.

For the unversed, Lanez, whose real name is Daystar Peterson, was convicted last year for allegedly shooting Megan Thee Stallion.

The prosecutors wrote, ‘The defendant actively invited harassment of the victim by spreading misinformation to his large following in an effort to galvanize the public against the victim and even the prosecution team without any regard to the dangers it posed.’

They continued, ‘The defendant has weaponized misinformation to his large following to such a degree that it has left a lasting traumatic impact on the victim.’

The government on the other hand wrote in the 6th June brief, ‘The defendant’s lack of remorse is insidious, leaving this court no assurances that the defendant will not repeat this type of behavior in the future.’

Besides that, they also cited an incident where Lanez allegedly assaulted singer August Alsina after a concert in Chicago back in October.

They added, ‘The fact that the defendant committed another unprovoked attack on another person while he had a violent felony case.’
