In addition, he uploaded a picture of the declaration that was signed by Wolf and the acting Secretary of the Commonwealth, Leigh Chapman.

In a follow-up tweet, he said, ‘I got pardoned today …, I’m taking things really far from being a trench baby!’

Meanwhile, Mill was one of the 369 individuals to receive a pardon in Pennsylvania this week.

Wolf has seemingly issued more pardons than any other governor in the history of Philadelphia. His current amount totals 2,540 pardons since taking office in 2015.

Before Wolf, Governor Ed Rendell held the record by granting 1,122 pardons.

Meanwhile, the Governor’s office issued a statement to address the matter.

It read, ‘I have taken this process very seriously. Reviewing and giving careful thought to each and every one of these 2,540 pardons and the lives they will impact.’

He continued, ‘Every single one of the Pennsylvanians who made it through the process truly deserves their second chance, and it’s been my honor to grant it.’

Mill’s pardon comes nearly fifteen years after he was convicted of charges in connection to drugs and weapons.

Meek Mill’s arrest history

Meek Mill has played a significant role in raising awareness for criminal justice reform after he was released from prison in 2018.

For the unversed, in 2017 he was sentenced to 2-4 years behind prison bars for violating his probation.

However, the Supreme Court overruled Judge Genece Brinkley’s judgment and Mill was freed.

Besides that, Mill’s lawyers accused Judge Genece Brinkley of having a grudge against the singer.

Additionally, they alleged that few cops gave fabricated testimony during Mill’s original trial.

The Supreme Court found his defense attorneys’ arguments plausible. Hence, Mill was released on 24th April 2014.
