Mary J. Blige and PepsiCo Inc. are working together to award a $30,000 scholarship to a student at Hampton University. To qualify for this scholarship, you need to be a female college sophomore with at least a 2.5 GPA. You should also be planning to pursue a degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Arts, Finance, or Creative Design as part of the “Strength of a Woman” scholarship initiative. The scholarship will be renewed for twelve months or once the recipient obtains a bachelor’s degree, whichever comes first. You must submit your application by 3 p.m. on Monday, October 16. They will let all candidates know in December.

The PepsiCo and Mary J. Blige Strength of a Woman Scholarship is part of the beverage company’s $200,000 commitment to community organizations. They announced the scholarships during the Strength Of A Woman Festival & Summit, which had artists like Ms. Lauryn Hill and Jeezy, and took place over Mother’s Day weekend.

On another note, Mary has a dream of playing Nina Simone in a movie. She talked about it on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert earlier this year, expressing her desire to portray the famous singer, pianist, composer, and activist. Mary J. Blige also discussed Hip Hop 50 along with how the art form continues to function as a sort of therapy for many individuals.

MARY J. BLIGE Establishes A $30K Scholarship For Hampton University Female Students

Mary J. Blige’s love for giving is equally enormous as her talent. According to reports, the iconic singer, actress, and entrepreneur would donate $30k to a suitable Hampton University student. According to Yahoo Finance, the scholarship is renewable for a maximum of one year or until a bachelor’s degree has been achieved, whatever comes first, due to appropriate academic performance (a cumulative GPA of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale) as well as full-time studies in a qualified major at Hampton University. The prize is an element of the Strength of a Woman scholarship scheme, which Blige co-founded with PepsiCo. The ‘Strength Of A Woman’ header was inspired by her 13th studio album, which was published in 2017. Blige also just hosted the first-ever Strength of a Woman Festival & Summit, which focused on holistic empowerment for women in areas including well-being, technological advances, beauty, financial acumen, and achieving success in business.

“I’m absolutely ecstatic about having our Strength of a Woman Festival & Summit heading back to Atlanta for the second consecutive year,” she said in a statement. “Establishing this festival offered us a platform to keep pushing to motivate, inspire, and develop unity between a community of women.” I’m grateful for all of our achievements and individuals, including Live Nation Urban, Pepsi, and each of our other partners who are committed to recognising and building a community for Black women. “I mean, it’s highly significant to have an experienced hitter partner like Pepsico supporting you, which is why they proved to be super supportive,” she concluded. We’re not sure how successful the ceremony would have turned out without them. I hope and pray that they return; it’s a big name, as they bring and contribute so much; it’s incredible.” The Strength Of A Woman Festival & Summit, which featured Ms. Lauryn Hill, Jeezy, and many more, returned over Mother’s Day weekend to be a part of the scholarship announcements.
