From Los Angeles, California, Sophia Nahli Allison, 36, is an experimental documentary filmmaker and photographer. The Andrew W. Mellon Foundation’s 2020 United States Artists Fellow works from both her hometown and Durham, North Carolina. According to reports, Lizzo has been accused of sexual harassment and establishing a hostile work environment in a new case. Sources say that the About Damn Time singer, 35, has been identified in legal documents after three former dancers spoke out against her.

They claimed in the papers, obtained by numerous US sites, that she encouraged one of them to touch a naked performer at an Amsterdam club and ‘drew attention’ to a per formance’s weight gain. The action also cited her production firm, Big Grrrl Big Touring, Inc., and her dancing captain, Shirlene Quigley, as defendants, albeit not all claims were related to all three. According to NBC News, Arianna Davis and Crystal Williams were both sacked by the Grammy-winner, real name Melissa Viviane Jefferson, after participating in her reality show, Watch Out for the Big Grrrls, in 2021.

On Tuesday, August 1, Academy Award nominee Sophia Nahli Allison spoke out about her experiences with Lizzo after she was sued. Lizzo is a rapper, singer, songwriter, and actor who has been accused of sexual harassment and for creating a hostile work environment by her backup dancers. The lawsuit also claims that Lizzo compelled one of them to kiss a n*ked performer in an Amsterdam bar and subjected three of them to “excruciating” auditions after hearing false rumors about the group drinking on the job. As soon as the news of the shocking lawsuit hit the internet, Sophia Nahli Allison made her own charges against Lizzo. She resorted to social media forums such as Reddit and Twitter to express her displeasure with the Big Grrrl Small World singer. She stated that she normally avoids anything “pop culture-related,” but after reading about the lawsuit, she couldn’t help but speak out. As she wrote in the caption of her tweet, “I’m sharing this because validating the experiences of Black women is of great importance to me.”

She also tweeted a photograph with long words describing how she quit after working with Lizzo for two weeks in 2019 because she was “treated with such disrespect” by her. Sophia Nahli Allison further accused Lizzo of being “arrogant, self-centered, and unkind,” and stated that she “felt gaslighted” and “deeply hurt” in her presence. She concluded by expressing her “love and support” for the plaintiffs and stating that such “abuse of power” was rather prevalent.
